TV Anywhere on Xperia Z5 premium

I recently replaced my Xperia Z1 with an Xperia Z5 premium (E6853). Unfortunately since upgrading I get the following message whenever I try to watch programmes on my phone using Virgin TV Anywhere:

Problem streaming channel
There was a problem streaming from this channel. Please try again.

The phone is fully updated and running Android 6.0.1

Can you please help?

Is it a uk phone? Or is the boot loader unlocked? Either of these will cause an issue with the app.

Thanks John,

I'm based in the UK, the phone was purchased from Singapore but has only ever used a Virgin mobile sim. The bootloader has not been unlocked
