I have been noticing that my phone which is a Samsung Galaxy Neo, when I make calls instead of the british ringing tone am getting an international ring tone as if I am calling from abroad and also the weather widget reports me as in Kalyani, India despite living in the UK so can anyone shed light as to what is going on as things were fine till last week has virgin mobile changed hand or what
That's rather odd! I want to get to the bottom of this for you. Are you able to go into Settings > Mobile Networks > Network Operators. When it displays the networks, try and conenct to any Virgin/T-Mobile/Orange networks. Give this a go and let me know how you get on.
It seemed that it was software problems with android lollipop as had android update today and that seems to fix the issues with the dialing tone which is the british ringing instead of the international one, I will let you know about the location side of things tomorrow hopefully android will have fixed that too.
The location issue seems to be when it can't find using the GPS it uses the ip in the phone to determine and I think the ip might be registered in India hence the location issues. It does seem to correct itself once am outside though using the GPS
