Status check for travel pass problems

Anyone else having difficulty with checking how much travel pass is left? I used to text STATUS but it just tells me I have a travel pass, not how much of it I've used. The only way to check now seems to be to look at my account and add up all the mbs used, not easy!
Please get this fixed!

I also have never managed to get a travel pass by texting, I have always had to phone up for it.

Re: Status check for travel pass problems

Hi Judybr.

Thank you for taking time to reach out to the Community Smiley Happy

It's great that you have selected a data pass, I can mention that we have recently had some issues with data passes but this is soemthing we have now resolved.

Can you tell me if you have had any further issues? I would certainly love to help if so.

All the best and safe travels.

Ben

Re: Status check for travel pass problems

Thanks Ben
I recently received a text informing me my travel pass was near expiry, which is an improvement.
However the status query reply still says I have 30 days left: I have had the pass for over 3 weeks now so this is wrong. It did however tell me how many Mb were left, like it used to do. You are getting there!
Now I need to find out whether I can buy another pass by text without ringing up.

Hi Judybr,

Thank you for coming in and posting your message, I hope that you have been having a good time away.

I am sorry that there is still some issue on the update from your data allowance but happy it's working for you.

Can I ask how things are looking now?

All the best.

Ben

Re: Status check for travel pass problems

I am back home so have not used the rest of the pass I recently bought.

I tried to see what was left once I got back to the UK but it said 'looks like you don't have a pass now' or something similar.

I didn't manage to get one by text but that was my fault, I texted BUY 100MB not realising that you don't have a 100MB pass. It is easier to ring up!

The status message (when the pass is operative) still said I had 30 days even when I only had a few left.

Re: Status check for travel pass problems

Hi Judybr Smiley Happy

Thanks for your question. Some people would say they are the same but in terms of how we access our data:-

  • Mobile Web, is internet provided through a mobile phone carrier.
  • Mobile Broadband, is something that is fed through usually your WiFi on your phone but not through a mobile carrier, for example WiFi buddy is given data through the Hubs around the UK Smiley Happy

Hope this helps and stay in touch Smiley Happy

Ben

Mobile web is the mobile data you receive through your mobile sim.

Mobile Broadband is a dongle/sim which has a mobile data allowance but no calls or texts available on the dongle/sim, it is something you would purchase for a tablet ect for internet while out and about.

Bit more info here about mobile broadband and WiFi device Virgin sell
