Sony Xperia Update History

I recently performed a system update via wifi from kitkat 444 to Lollipop 511, had about four or five reboots during this process however the very last update said it had been unsuccessful but the phone finally booted with no further prompts on the failed update hence this question.

When I go to about phone then software update then the three dots top right hand side then update history then Xperia System update, this tells you the date of the latest operating system install date and time, however if you tap on this it then takes me to this image that I posted here, as you will see it says installing, this is weird as the earlier page says system is up-to-date.

Anyone that's updated OTA, have you got similar showing?

I will post the image on the next post.

When hitting on Xperia System Update this brings up the page in question. When hitting on Xperia System Update this brings up the page in question.

I get this with a moving thin bar from left to right and if left does nothing.I get this with a moving thin bar from left to right and if left does nothing.

Re: Sony Xperia Update History

Thanks for posting Paperclip Smiley Happy

I haven't seen this happen on our side with this particular update. You may need to factory reset the phone and try the update again.

Please let me know how you get on with this.

Thanks,

Mat

Factory resetting the phone won't put it back to Kitkat though, once a phone has had it's operating system upgraded it isn't possible to roll back unless it's rooted.

The phone does say as per my earlier messages that it's up-to-date.

Re: Sony Xperia Update History

Rather than do a factory reset I'm performing a system software repair via Pc companion.

Re: Sony Xperia Update History

Actually I think it's basically the same as a factory reset, anyway now the update history option is greyed out.

Is yours like this?

Re: Sony Xperia Update History

This seems like nit would correlate with the factory reset Paperclip Smiley Happy

Do you get the installing message at all now?

Thanks,

Mat

Instead of having the option to tap on update history it's now greyed out as per my screenshot.
