SmartCall and unlimited minutes

Hello

I get really poor mobile reception in my flat, so I've investigated the SmartCall app.

My problem though is that I have unlimited calls on my mobile, but only the M package weekend calls on my landline - so I don't want the app to use my landline minutes, which will cost, but my mobile minutes, which won't.

However I can't see a way to do this? Am I missing something? (Someone I know on Three has a small box which plugs into their router and routes their regular mobile calls over wifi/broadband, so clearly it can be done, and there's no technical reason why it should be linked to a landline account).

Can anyone advise?

Thanks

Re: SmartCall and unlimited minutes

Hi Docherty,

Thanks for your post Smiley Happy

That's a good question regarding Smartcall!

I'm afraid it's not possible to use your mobile minutes while using Smartcall. This will only be able to use your Landline minutes as this is the way the app is designed.

The app requires you to register a landline number. I'm afraid there's no way around this.

Let me know if you have any other queries.

Thanks,

Mat

Re: SmartCall and unlimited minutes

Thanks for getting back to me.

Seems a shame, as I can't see it is to Virign's disadvantage to route calls using mobile minutes over wifi, especially as other providers are doing it (EE most recently).

If Virgin don't start to offer something similar, I may have to look round for alternative deals.
