Since IOS8.3 installed, no network connection

Hello, Iphone 6 Plus working fine until installed IOS8.3 whereupon no mobile network connection. Tried restoring factory settings, same issue. Different sim card, same issue. Apple Care suggest it's a hardware fault but seems too much of a coincidence. Phone is otherwise fine, i.e. wifi etc all working.

 

It appears IOS8.3 adds new WIFI calling functionality and I wonder if Virgin/EE have not updated their carrier settings? Have tried and failed to get through to VM several times today.

I'm really sorry that you've not had any network coverage. Have you tried resetting the network settings in the reset menu?

Mat, they replaced the phone like for like, i.e. with iOS8.3 installed. Same issue - "No Service" although after each restore the phone does say 'do you want to update your virgin carrier settings for messaging' etc so it does recognise SIM to some extent. SIM fine in other (non iOS8.3 phones), other Virgin SIMs not fine in iOS8.3 phone. I will try a non Virgin SIM when able (phone was purchased from Apple unlocked).

 

Apple Care asked for all the carrier data and have escalated to their 'engineers' which is as high as it can go apparently. I'll report back.

And there we have it. Switch off 'automatic' in carrier settings. Eventually it finds available networks including Virgin. Manually select Virgin and voila - network restored. Post reboot phone reverts to carrier=automatic and as of now all is well. In the end not a large slice of Genius involved.
