Samsung J3 sceen lock

I've just upgraded to this but am having problems with the screen lock. I set it with a Pin but then found that a nuisance, so wanted to turn it off, but when I follow the instructions I get as far as Screen Lock Type and everything bar Pin and Password is greyed out, so I can't select None. It wouldn't be such a big problem if I could set the lock to a long delay, but that doesn't seem to work either, even though I set it to 10 minutes.

Anybody help?

Re: Samsung J3 sceen lock

If you normally switch off the screen by tapping the power button the default behaviour is to instantly lock (there may be an option to change that near the lock time setting).

Maybe you have installed an app that requires a lock screen. Try clearing credentials -> settings > general > security > clear credentials  (at the bottom of the list). Then try changing the lock screen again.

Hi Paperboy,

you need to enter your password then touch "CONTINUE".

You will then be able to select "None"

Re: Samsung J3 sceen lock

Thanks AlexKid, but I've done that and the only options not greyed out are Pin and Password, the other options aren't available

Hi Paperboy,

as "Password" is not greyed out, have you entered it?

Once you have, you should be able to continue.

Re: Samsung J3 sceen lock

Ok then the other option is a factory data reset, you'll need the pin to complete it but then the phone will be back as it was in the beginning
