Roaming

I had Roaming switched on for my trip to the USA.

When I tried to make a call to a number in the USA whilst I was there, I got a message telling me to contact the operator.

My friend who is also from the UK made the same call to the same number in the USA and got through straight away as normal in the UK.

He is not with Virgin.

I am not too happy with Virgin as I could have been stuck if my friend had not been there with his phone.

Have I missed something somewhere?

I thought with roaming switched on I could make calls the same as I do here in the UK?

Re: Roaming

Hi gsgeoff,

as well as Roaming being turned on in your account you also need to ensure that "International call barring" is turned off in order to make calls whilst abroad.

Re: Roaming

Thanks for that reply.

Why didn't Virgin tell me that when I had Roaming turned on?

Will have to check that next time I go abroad.

Regards
