Every time I go into Europe I have Roaming text charges to the same number many times a day!
I do not make these text's but are charged.
If I call the number it does not exist
I have found that the number is the messaging centre number for virgin which I found in my phone settings
It must be that my phone sim is in some way using this number.
Has anyone else had this problem ?
have you sent any text messages whilst you are abroad?
I remember reading something similar in another post.
The way text messages abroad are handled, they are all routed via the same message centre so appear to be going to that number.Though are obviously forwarded to the correct recipient.

Thanks for your reply.
Yes I do sometimes send texts while away, an odd one from time to time.
There are up to 16 texts a day showing this message centre number!! even when I have not used the phone that day!
The number is shown in my phone settings under Text message (sms) settings - Message centre +447958879890
I never had this problem before when I was with o2
Only since I have put my virgin sim in my phone.
Well that is Virgin's Text Message Centre.
Can only suggest you call them on your return.
Thank you Enlli
I have been reporting it to Virgin for 6 months and have got nowhere!!!
Without advertising there is a network that allows you to roam in France with calls and texts coming out of your allowance.
One, two, three. lol
It's not a case of wanting to roam free, it's that I'm being charged for text's I'm not sending!!
