Roaming in Tenerife. No service

I have been trying unsuccessfully to contact Virgin to allow me to use my phone whilst on holiday. I cannot register my mobile online and need someone to contact me so that I can use my phone. Need to be able to make contact/be contacted in an emergency. Abysmal service as there is no way to contact by email. Nothing but problems with Virgin's service in the 2 short months I have been with them! Will look to end contract sap when I get home as I've barely had use of the phone.

As per the advice on the sticky at the top of the Mobile Forum, Roaming should be enabled by contacting Virgin prior to using a contract phone abroad for the first time. It also has advice on activation from abroad:
