Sorry to hear you're roaming abroad is not active.
I've provided a link here to a previous post around getting your roaming active online. If this doesn't help the thread provides a contact number for our mobile team who can sort this out for you over the phone.
What Stephen is telling you is not strictly the full story.
-Their helpline and some other roaming seviced have been unavailable for significant periods. I'm the last 4 weeks. -They appear to have a problem with account roaming settings resetting back off....so keep checking them - Email email@example.com , who will help but are very overloaded and therefore expect long waits
