ROAMING - Need help.......I am an amateur

On 4th February I am flying to Malaysia (Kuala Lumpur) to stay with my son and his family.  I am looking at all the nightmares people have with ROAMING.

Once off the plane, I am making my way by train to central Kualar Lumpur then getting a taxi to my son's place (Have refused his offer of being picked up at the airport because he has a pregnant wife and a baby at home)

My Roaming must work as I need to contact him when I arrive at his building as there is no security and no way to access the building without a phone call to him!

How can I check that my mobile will work????

Kind regards

Jane

Hi clawberry

Your certainly not being silly Smiley Happy

You would only have to setup roaming once or activate this as once its active then its permanently on unless you request to turn it off

you can also activate this from your online account

it should indeed because the number should be saved already as the + format

the charges are the following
Making a Call £2.00 (per minute)
Recieving a Call £1.00 (per minute)
Sending an SMS 30p
Sending an MMS 40p
Data £5.00 (per MB)

Re: ROAMING - Need help.......I am an amateur

Excellent Smiley Very Happy now time for your jolly hols!

When u leave the UK, switch the phone off. When you land on the ground then you switch the phone back on

it should connect to the partner network in Malaysia . To dial back to the UK you need to drop the 0 from the 07 , 01 , 02 or 03 or change to

+447 , +441 , +442 or +443 then the rest of the number

if you can find the + then you can change to 00447 , 00441 ,00442 or 00443

Re: ROAMING - Need help.......I am an amateur

Thank you!   One more little question.  My son has a Malaysian mobile number and it is in my phone.  It should go straight through?  As I am on a contract I presume I will be stung a high charge for a call or text?

Jeez, what a numpty I am!
