Premium Text Charge

Over the weekend I received two texts from different numbers that were clearly scam texts. I deleted both without opening however for the second of the texts I have been charged £3.00.

Is it possible to firstly get a refund of the £3.00 and to also block the number (700038475) to avoid this happening again?

Re: Premium Text Charge

Hi City3000,

entering the number into EE's Third Party Services Checker shows this information:

  • Short code number:85878
  • Service description:85878 - Shared Short Code (subscriptions)
  • Contact details:01223590555 or cs@zamano.com

This service is provided by Global Awareness Ltd and managed by Zamano Solutions Ltd.

Any queries (including questions about billing or charging) should be directed to the contact details above

Usually Virgin are unable or unwilling to do anything about these premium rate texts but in this recent thread:
http://community.virginmedia.com/t5/Virgin-Mobile/How-to-stop-charging-SMS-texts/td-p/3117592

Customer services were very helpful. Try giving them a call on 789.
