Picture messaging

I have been unable to send or receive picture messages on my Nokia Lumia 630 since the end of last year, is there an ongoing problem?  Thanks

Re: Picture messaging

Hi liko,

have you checked that your phone is correctly set up for picture messaging: Phone Settings

Once you have done this you need to send yourself one to activate the service.

You could consider using a service such as WhatsApp for sending photo's & Video (much easier and free).

AlexKid :-)

Re: Picture messaging

Welcome to the forums Liko Smiley Happy

I'm sorry that you've had issues with MMS messaging. I want to get this sorted for you as soon as possible.

Are you able to send a picture message to your own number?

Let me know how you get on with this.
Thanks,

Mat

Re: Picture messaging

Thanks for trying that for me Liko Smiley Happy

Can you confirm if Mobile Data is enabled on the phone? This can be found in Settings > Mobile + Sim > Data connection.

MMS messages will not work without an active mobile data connection.

Thanks,

Mat

Re: Picture messaging

First, try a soft reset, & check again.

Have you simply tried turning off data, then turning it back on? If not, try it.

Next, try turning off Wi-Fi, then attempt to send a mms. If no luck, turn Wi-Fi back on.

Next, delete the mms APN & reinstall it using AlexKid's link to get sent the necessary settings.

If still no joy, try an alternative text app like the free WhatsApp - works fine on Wi-Fi alone, so you can shut-off your data when using it. There are no extra charges for sending/receiving calls, texts & mms (if you use free Wi-Fi or inclusive data allowance).

---------------------------

There is one last resort possible fix - a hard reset (backup thoroughly before attempting though).
