Persistent No Service

Been have a lot of trouble with my connection the virgin mobile network. Keeps losing service if I turn it off. My phone is Sony Z3 tried new sims, tried reseting (including factory resets).

Phone software is up to date and monthly contract (which isn't in arrears)

Had to turn it of on Fri 15th as I was visiting a hospital, switched it on right outside the main enterance (no service), left it on and walking a couple miles into town. Through multiple cell towers.

Been in contact with technical services on multiple occasions in the last fortnight or so

Still no service. !

Can any help? Postcode S70 5AF

Re: Persistent No Service

Hi AdamPanic2013

I'm really sorry to learn about the trouble you're experiencing with your mobile at the moment, I'd like to take a look at what the team are doing to get this resolved and assist in getting this sorted as soon as possible.

Have you been able to perform a manual network search at all? You can find out how to do that [here] if you've not alreadyMan Happy

Lastly, can I ask that you respond to the private message I've sent so I can take a look at what we've been doing to get this fixed so far? You can view the message by clicking the purple envelope on the top right of this page

Sorry again for the inconvenience this has caused, we're looking forward to putting it right.

Craig

Re: Persistent No Service

Sent you a PM, Craig.

Tried doing a "Network Operators" search, in both normal and safeboot modes. It just appears to be spinning its wheels, no list of operators appears.

Even after letting it search over  night.

Re: Persistent No Service

Had the service come back on Sunday. Turned it off just now (Mon ~22:30), against my better judgement, and wham no service again.

So to me this suggests either;-

  • an issue with mobile phone network (unlikely I agree)
  • or a software (most likely),
  • or a hardware. (possible but unlikely due to have been working)

Re: Persistent No Service

Hi AdamPanic2013 Smiley Happy

We'll definitely find out what's happening with this. Are you able to try your sim in another phone to see if this helps with the issue?

Let me know as soon as you can.

Thanks,

Mat

Re: Persistent No Service

The annoying thing is that the service is working.
