Paying a monthly bill via top ups on the phone in question

After much stress attempting to sort out a bill via top up last time because Virgin decided to just disconnect the phone when we were trying to pay the bill with the money that had been put on the phone, I was curious as to whether I could put a lump sum of cash onto the phone via top up to pay the bill, so I can forget about for 3 months for example, or whether I would still have to pay it by direct debit, on the dot, every month.

Re: Paying a monthly bill via top ups on the phone in question

when i worked for virgin about a year or so ago the account would try to take any money from the phone first eg top up credit.

you still have to have a direct debit setup for the system but if the topups on the phone cover the bill it wont charge the debit anything
