Please can anyone tell me how I prevent my daughter from accessing the internet on her mobile phone when she is out of the house?

Is it just accessing the internet on her phone that you are trying to prevent or out of tariff use of mobile data?
You can call Virgin customer services on 789 (0345 6000 789) and ask that mobile data be disabled from the account.
That will prevent her using it anywhere. But she will still be able to use WiFi.
You can turn it off on the device (but is she likely to turn it back on again?).
