PAYG Directory Enquiries

I was under the impression that by ringing 118180 on my PAYG mobile, (Daily Bonus Plan), directory enquiries were free as long as you used it less than 10 times a day.

I've just looked at my usage and noticed that I was charged a premium rate call of £1.90 on September 22nd., the only call I made that day was to 118180 to get a number while on holiday on Bute.

To say I'm spitting nails is an understatement, the call lasted 1 minute 1 second due to the inept person at the other end asking several times who I wanted despite me clearly giving the name and place, I was than set a text with the number although I had written it down.

Is this another way to increase Virgin profit?

I would be interested to hear what a moderator has to say about this.

Re: PAYG Directory Enquiries

The costs to service numbers from Virgin Mobile PAYG was changed on the 1st July and as part of that standard access and service charges have applied to 118180 since then.

This is currently 36ppm for the access charge and £1.50ppm for the service charge.

Re: PAYG Directory Enquiries

Thanks for the information, still a disgraceful rip off, 118180 removed from my phone.
