No service abroad

In Cyprus and have No service I'm a uk customer can you help

You could try this first:-

log into your account > click on  the "Plan and device" tab.

Go to "Manage my services" > check that "Roaming" is set to ON & "International call barring" is set to OFF

If not, make it so by moving the "switch".

Allow time for your account to update if you have to make a change to the settings.
(Virgin advise that this may take upto 24 hours but fortunately is usually much quicker).

Then reboot your phone by turning it off & on again.

Otherwise Customer services number from abroad is +447953967967

I have the same issue, with Virgin Mobile in the UK. I arrived in Ireland 3 days ago and not been able to make any calls or get 3G, Meteor and Vodaphone networks are shown. It seems virgin can receive my text requesting a 250Mb data pass, but I cannot use it and I have no way of contacting Virgin.

Very frustrated

have you checked your account settings as described in the post above?

(Nicely written enlli Smiley Tongue)

With particular regard to "International call barring" needing to be OFF.

 

You may need to enable your phone for data roaming in the settings on the handset.

Possibly: Settings > More Networks > Mobile Networks > Data Roaming.

Thanks for the suggestions, done all that.  But there's no option for international call caring on the iPhone, I expect that's what I need to get hold of Virgin for, but I have no way of getting through to them. I can receive calls, so maybe just need to get them to call me, any idea how to do that?

Hi worlestone,

 

the setting for International call barring is in your Virgin Mobile account.

Click here to log into your account go to the "Plan and device" tab.

Go to "Manage my services" it seems Roaming is on. Check that "International call barring" is set to OFF.

 

If still needed you may be able to contact Virgin here: Help and Support - Contact Us > Mobile > Mobile not working > Chat online.

The advisors are often busy though so you may not get connected straight away.

I am in Italy and on Virgin Media with a OnePlus One phone.

I purchased a 250Mb data pack but it will not work. I have also had varying problems with delayed or undelivered texts. I am having to use WiFi for communication but as soon as I leave the hotel nothing.

 

All settings are correct on phone and I have signed into my account and checked that roaming is on and international call barring is off so PLEASE PLEASE do not reply with a generic answer about checking settings and accounts!

 

I have a party of 40 children I am in charge of and it would be very useful to have access to emails and internet.

 

Thank you in advance for any help.

Right, I'm sorted. I used Facebook to contact a friend in the UK who is with Virgin. He rang them and asked them to call me (because I could not make calls), they rang, I got put trough to Technical Support, who needed to flick some switch to turn roaming on! Even if your phone says it has roaming on for some reason Virgin chooses to have it turned off by default, once switch flicked all was goo and I could ring home - at last.

oops, forgot to say, they said it will take 24hours for the 3G mobile access to be activated
