Re: New Sim still not activated

They seem to take a long time doing this, they say up to 24 hrs but I have reports of longer. Have you tried rebooting your phone so it re-reads the SIM?

There is a number you can ring from any other phone 0345 6000 789

Re: New Sim still not activated

ok little update

i managed to acquire a sim adapter to test out the sim on my old phone and it worked (I could make calls send texts ect) so the sim is activated and fine.

My new phone is an unlocked from EE  Sony Xpeira M2 bought of Ebay (I know Smiley Happy but im pretty confident its not a stolen phone)

Ive gone into Settings/Mobile Networks/Network Operators and selected virgin

whenever i try to make a call it ends immediately

Has anyone had this problem and solved it?

thanks

Hi Dave81UK,

do you have or are you able to borrow another working SIM to put into your Sony Xpeira to make a call with to test the phone?

Re: New Sim still not activated

Hi Dave81UK,

if I were in your position I would be worried too.

A quick Google shows sites such as: http://www.imeipro.info/ where they offer to check if your IMEI is blacklisted.

(I haven't used this site, it was just the first free one I came across so can't vouch for it and you may want to check for others).

Hopefully since you bought from eBay you will be covered if the phone turns out to be bad.

Keep us informed.

Re: New Sim still not activated

Hi Dave81UK,

I feel for you Smiley Sad

Like I said, I haven't used that site, it was just one of the first free one's I came across so I'm not able to vouch for it.

However, it's not looking good for your phone.

I think that I would be contacting the seller by now and be prepared to open a dispute if necessary.
