New SIM card not recognized

I recently signed up for a SIM-only monthly plan, and the SIM card arrived today. I've tried the SIM-card on 3 different phones, and none of the recognize a SIM-card having been inserted. I can swap my 2 working SIM cards between the phones with no problem, but the Virgin SIM card doesn't even register as having been inserted into my phones (iPhone 5c, iPhone 6, HTC Desire Eye). 

The help page suggested the following: 

You'll need to activate it online by registering or logging into your account at virginmobile.co.uk/youraccount and select Plan and Device.

However the Plan and Device page offers no option for activating a SIM card. 

Is my SIM card a dud or is there some critical aspect I'm missing for getting it working?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Anyone have any ideas? Any way to get into contact with customer support outside of this forum?

Just bumping this question. If no one can help, can anyone point me in the direction of canceling this service and requesting a refund?

With regards to activating the sim, give us a call on 789 or 0345 6000 789 and we can make sure that the sim is activated.
