New Micro Sim in New Phone - NO NETWORK!?!?

Hi all

I did everything I was told to do by Virgin Mobile, followed the pamphlet etc etc

Did it before I went to sleep last night, so it could hopefully all be working when I woke up. But still no network on my old virgin sim or my new one. Surely it shouldn't logically be removed from the old phone until the new phone is up and running. That is the only process that makes sense transition wise, customer service wise etc.

So I have no phone and been wasting time googling stuff all morning to fix it.

1) Hard Reboot - didn't work.

2) Removing and replacing the sim card again, several times, didn't work. 

3) Did a bunch of updates for the phone - made no difference

And http://virginmobile.co.uk/activate was down last night and this morning

I know it warns it can take 24 hours...but that is the extreme case right, it does say it "usually takes about 10 minutes to get you active on our network"

Can someone help me fix this?

Did you, on the old card and phone send the text to 789678 as advised in the pack?

if not you will need to call in.  0345 6000 678

Yep did all of the above and then had to get on a plane late yesterday afternoon to another country and still nothing. I also tried to manually search for networks as advised when speaking to the guy on the phone number you recognised. I am away for a while and currently no working network which is likely going to cost me work. Could a Virgin Mobile expert please help me solve this.

Thank you for your post and welcome into the Community, I hope you're enjoying your trip oustide of the UK Smiley Happy

 

I am sorry to read about the Sim not registering on the phone, there are a few questions I would like to ask if I may, (if you've not already called in that is)?:-

 

  • What mobile phone are you using?
  • Is this Sim card able to be used in another phone, (only if possible)?
  • Is this a replacement Sim or first Sim for the phone itself?
