New 4G sim means unlocking the sim EVERY time I switch off

Just upgraded to a 4G sim and have found that whenever I turn off the phone I have to re-enter the SIM unlock code. So that's a phone pin and a sim pin. Seriously?  Same number same plan but moved to 4g. Is there any way to stop having to enter the sim pin every day (I switch off to charge).

Easily turned off in your phone's settings.

Put "sim pin" into Google and you'll get loads of results with instructions for Android, iOS and windows phone's :-)
