Network Lock

Network lock keeps appearing when wife put's in new virgin sim car. How do we do this? It is a 8 digit number that is required.

Re: Network Lock

Hi stephenwood,

it sounds like your wife's phone isn't open to the Virgin network.

Is it a new phone? If not what network SIM was previously used in it?

Which network provided the handset? if it wasn't from VM, you'll have to go back to the provider and pay the unlock fee to get the unlock code. A VM handset shouldn't prevent a VM SIM from working.

Re: Network Lock

Think you will find that the phone is 'locked' to another network, thus the message.

You will need an 'unlock' code (this is the 8 digits it is asking for) from the original phone carrier to unlock. (you may need to find which network it was originally on, ie:  O2, Vodaphone, Orange, T-Mobile etc, and then try to get the code directly from them, or..take it to a phone shop and get them to unlock for a price)

Hope this helps. Smiley Happy

Re: Network Lock

Thanks for that.

It is an old phone - probably 5+ years - Samsung GT-E1170i.

Was previously with Orange.
