My and my wife's modiles are not working in Europe despite what 789 said. Any reason .

I am now in Europe for second time in month.  My mobile is not working - has no service.  This despite a call yo operator and checking with 789.  My wife' mobile is not workin either. Why? It seems impossible to contact Virgin by any other means than by this message board!

Hi Phillips61,

 

log into your account > click on  the "Plan and device" tab.

Go to "Manage my services" > check that "Roaming" is set to ON & "International call barring" is set to OFF

If not, make it so by moving the "switch".

Allow time for your account to update if you have to make a change to the settings.
(Virgin advise that this may take upto 24 hours but fortunately is usually much quicker).

Then reboot your phone by turning it off & on again.

 

You may have to go into the phone's settings and "manually search for network"

 

If you are still struggling you may be able to contact here: Help and Support - Contact Us > Mobile > Mobile not working > Chat online.

The advisors are often busy though so you may not get connected straight away.

 

Alternatively, if you can borrow a phone to call Virgin Mobile. Their UK support line number is: +447953 967 967
