Multiple sims not working, need contact EMAIL!

So my ridiculous problem is that I have moved to Malaysia, tried a Malaysian sim card in my phone which didn't work (no sim card - no service), so tried to put back my previously working UK sim card...which also decided not to work. It was working perfectly in Malaysia up until I reinserted it after the Malaysian sim failing.

I've lived abroad before and not had this problem, i'm not sure what it's down to. But because of this I can't call virgin, which basically appears the only option for contact - as the online chat is never available. I don't have access to other phones to call from either.

So please can someone from Virgin see this, and contact me!? Or someone who is a phone whizz try to explain what my problem might be. Or both.

Thanks in advance!

Re: Multiple sims not working, need contact EMAIL!

Hi maria_sian,

Welcome to the community and thanks for posting. Sorry to hear your SIM card has suddenly stopped working in Malaysia.

You may need to perform a manual search and select. To do this follow:-

Settings > More > Mobile networks > Network operators

Do you have a list of network showing?

If so, what happens when you try to connect to them?

Thanks

Thanks for replying Rich, I can't even get that far, as the 'Network networks' option is grayed out in my settings.

Re: Multiple sims not working, need contact EMAIL!

That suggests to me it's not picking up any networks at all.

  • Please make sure you've restarted the handset once you've inserted the SIM card.
  • Also make sure you have flight mode disabled.
  • Try toggling through the different network modes to see if this helps.
  • Try the Virgin SIM card in another handset to see if it works (I know this is easier said than done).

Please also see here for further suggestions.

Thanks
