Mobile Network Settings

On a pay monthly contract is it advisable in Mobile Network Settings to have the following selected?
Preferred Network Type: 4G Preferred WCDMA/GSM

And to have National Roaming selected for data roaming?

I just wondered why I would have 4G selected when Virgin don't use that network for residential customers.

Should I be selecting WCDMA/GSM only? would doing so affect whether I connect to 3.5G?

Re: Mobile Network Settings

At the moment you would be better using WCDMA/GSM. That includes 3.5G

Re: Mobile Network Settings

It makes no difference at all it will connect to the best of those options, no need to change

Re: Mobile Network Settings

As John has advised, leaving it set at 4g will work just fine even though Virgin only have 3g.

Would say national roaming will be the same, if a sim does not support it - it will not use it, so leaving it on will be fine again.
