Re: Micro Sim Card

Hi jacdow,

first, are you sure that your present SIM isn't one of the 3 in 1 "push out to size” type that you can make to the size you want?

If not, you'll need to give the Virgin mobile team a call on 789 from your mobile or 0345 6000 789 from any other phone & request a new SIM.

Tell them that you need to change size and ask for a new "multi SIM" then you can just pop it out to the size you need.

Re: Micro Sim Card

Hi jacdow,

that's the great thing about a multi SIM.

You can put it in your old phone first to transfer saved contacts, then make it to Micro size to fit your new phone Smiley Happy

Or you maybe able to transfer contacts via Google, Samsung Kies, iTunes e.t.c

Re: Micro Sim Card

Great many thanks! Looks like I also have to save my numbers from old sim to phone to retain them! Then add manually - oh well!

Re: Micro Sim Card

Smiley Sad - they've only sent me a micro sim in spite of me requesting the multi sim! Oh well!

Re: Micro Sim Card

Hi jacdow,

that’s a shame Smiley Sad

When I needed to change my SIM to Micro size, I didn’t bother sending for a new one, I just trimmed my old SIM down to size with a pair of scissors.

As you’ve already got your new Micro SIM, once you’ve activated it, your old SIM will be redundant.
This being the case, you’ve got nothing to lose by having a go at this yourself.

(If you’ve got a lot of contacts to store and you were planning on doing each manually it’ll be worth it.)

If the “gold” bits on the SIM’s are the same shape, place your new SIM on top of the old one and draw around it. Then just cut it out.

You'll then be able to put your old SIM into your new phone and "copy contacts to phone".

Re: Micro Sim Card

Thanks - I'm up and running!
Realised I had a micro SD card - so loaded contacts onto that from old phone then put in new phone and was able to transfer them that way!
