I have a blackberry curve that used to be on virgin mobile pay monthly contract which ended 2013. I now wish to use a different sim card as a temporary solution whilst my current phone is being repaired. The curve was paid for and i wondered if it was possible to get a MEP code to unlock it.

first off, have you checked that your phone is actually network locked?
If so, you can call the Virgin mobile team on 789 from your Virgin mobile or 0345 6000 789 from any other phone. Give them the phone details and your account information, they should be able to supply an unlock code (I think the charge is £15.32).
Alternatively, look on Google or eBay or pop it into your local independent phone shop. You may get it unlocked cheaper.
