Re: Lower EU Data Roaming prices

This post is a laugh. All you need now beyond letting us buy data is to get it to work. And you don't seem very good at that!

Re: Lower EU Data Roaming prices

There are two Data Roaming "Travel Pass" products available when you click the link in Mark Y's email. One is called "Web", the other is called "Broadband". The prices are the same for each but why are there two products if its all about data usage?

Mobile Web will be for the travel pass using your phone.

Mobile Broadband will be for those that have the specific Mobile Broadband SIMs or dongles.

Can see roaming prices quickly increasing once we leave the EU.

Re: Lower EU Data Roaming prices

When I was in the Isle of Man last week, I had the auto-text from Virgin to say that the data package was available 10mb for 35p.  I went for this as I wasn't going to be using roaming very much.

However, they wanted to charge 24p per minute to make a call.

Now the IOM isn't part of the EU or the UK - but it still seems a bit steep to charge that amount, especially as it includes calling Virgin to tell them that their service isn't working.

Re: Lower EU Data Roaming prices

Why cant you use the data you are paying for on your contract for a nominal fee....50p a day?

Re: Lower EU Data Roaming prices

Interesting to see Kezzidog hasn't had a reply.

Vodafone do an add-on called Eurotraveller. I pay £3 per day (only on the day that I actually use it) & then all data usage, calls & texts etc are from my inclusive contract. There's no having to buy a set amount of data or calls etc. It's so bloody simple, no thinking about how much I'm using, if I don't use the phone for a day there's no charge, if I use it then there's a fixed £3 charge. It's not the cheapest but I know exactly where I am with it.

Why can't Virgin come up with something similar? I'm sure there'd be LOADS of takers..

Re: Lower EU Data Roaming prices

No need to even pay that £3 per day to use your data. With Three you can just use your allowance. Granted it's only 3g but I've had no issues using in Europe and US.
