Keeping same number

My contract is about to end, so I have decided to keep the phone and just get a new sim. I have looked at my accounts and there are 2 different numbers . Does this mean I will have to have a new phone number when I get the new sim.

Re: Keeping same number

No you can keep the same number if you do it right.
At the 30 day mark call 789 on the phone, choose the " want to leave us " options, retentions can stop the contact and start a sim only for you, mention you want the same number.

One thing, you will have to have a credit check to set up the sim only, it's still classed as a contract

Re: Keeping same number

Hi kenmar1,

you need to call Virgin customer services within the last 30 days of your contract and give notice of your intent to cancel.

After this time your SIM will become pay as you go retaining the same mobile number.

You can view Virgin's "Big" tariffs HERE

Re: Keeping same number

Thanks for the reply JOhn. I have ordered the new sim and the new account is sorted, that is why I have 2 account numbers. The new number has 11 numbers will this be a new phone number or just the account  number I thought phone numbers had 10. It will be a  pain if I have to  change.

Re: Keeping same number

Hi kenmar1,

mobile phone numbers have 11 digits.

If you have already arranged a new account it will have a new number as your current mobile number is still in use with your current contract.
