Re: Just received my new SIM..."SIM Not Valid"

Your phone has been locked to the last sim card provider which was used in the phone, usually you need to ask for your phone to be unlocked by the provider which it has been locked to.

Re: Just received my new SIM..."SIM Not Valid"

hi there thanks for the reply, I eventually worked that out thanks, my previous network was Vodafone, I have completed an online form asking for an unlock code from them, but my contract has since ended with them, don't know how I am going to get the code now from them...

Re: Just received my new SIM..."SIM Not Valid"

If Vodaphone refuse due to you not being under contract then the only other option would be to buy a payg sim, top up with the cost of unlock (if any), & apply to unlock, you may have to use the phone to make a call to register the imei so they can apply to Apple to unlock it.

Good luck.

Re: Just received my new SIM..."SIM Not Valid"

Hi, thanks for the reply...I found out that Vodafone have an online form that you complete and return to them, which I did, they then put through a request to Apple who then unlocked my phone through iTunes...it is worth noting that if you are with Vodafone less than 12 months they will charge £19.99 to unlock the phone, luckily enough I was just over the 12 months...many thanks for all the info...
