I have noticed that I am now being charged £1 every day for Internet Access. As I am using my home Wi-Fi why am I being charged by Virgin mobile.
I presume by the £1 daily charge that you are a Pay As You Go customer. (Out of tariff for Pay Monthly customers is £2 per day).
Even if connected to WIFI, when in standby your phone's WIFI may "go to sleep" as a battery saving measure and your phone could then use mobile data.
You may occasionally move out of your WiFi range or the signal may drop and again your phone could use mobile data.
You can look in your phone's settings to check that you have WiFi set to "stay awake" at all times.
You can also restrict background data in the phone's settings, completely or just for selective apps.
Best of all, except times when you might want to use mobile data. Why not just turn it off in the settings on your device and avoid any unplanned charges.
