How Long Does It Take To Get Sim Card

Just a quick question how long does it take to actually get your Sim card VM reckons it was posted last Fri 6th Still not got... However they manged to send a bill on the 10th and also Direct Debit details on the 12th.

How on earth can you get a bill before you get the Sim, I have contacted them but all you get is someone who speaks broken English and as not clue what you are on about.

There is o way I am paying for something I dont have should I cancel the Direct Debit

My SIM took 7 working days to arrive via Royal Mail, 9 days if you include the weekend days - but this was the week running up to Christmas.

Blimey thats by carrier pigeon were you expected to pay for the days you didnt have it ?

Mine was was a upgrade/replacement SIM, so I was still using the old SIM untill the new one arrived :-)

Very similar situation. Frustrating, as I'm expected to pay from 9th Jan after ordering on 8th Jan, yet I still have no SIM.

Thanks for getting in touch via the Forum. As @teabag advised, it can take up to 7 days for delivery, but this is dependent on the courier.

Checking this for you, I can see that your new SIM card is now activated.

Thanks for your help. My SIM actually arrived today and is working fine. PAC code ritual has been done and I received an automated text telling me the switchover will be today.

 

One point though: The automated text I receive reads:-

Good news! Your number moves over on 18/01. So, use your credit, and save your texts and contacts. Make more of your mobile at www.virginmedia.com/pac

Notwithstanding the questionable use of a comma before an 'and', the web link leads to a nonexistent page.

Hi Terri,

Well, despite yesterday's text advising my number would port, it hasn't. It seems the Customer Service rep with whom I did the PAC ritual may have been right; that the port may happen either tomorrow or perhaps Monday.

I'm carrying around a spare phone with the Virgin SIM, so it's not a massive inconvenience, but it is just irritating that little basic things aren't done properly.

So far, the only saving grace that has kept me from cancelling is the fact that I get good signal in areas previously bereft of any.
