Help! Virgin already ported my number but my sim hasn't arrived!

I'm moving from orange mobile to virgin,
Told virgin I want to transfer my old number, gave them the PAC code and they ported it (am told porting takes 24-48hrs)
But due to errors the virgin sim hasn't arrived and I am told it won't until Fri.
They shouldn't have ported the number until the new sim arrived, I don't know why they did, all I asked for was info about how to transfer my old number.

im told they can't get the sim to me any quicker or cancel the porting 
I'm still paying orange and with them until end of month but as the porting has been requested will my old orange sim stop working?
I hate being without a phone!

I went from Orange to VM , you should not have gave VM the PAC code till you had the VM SIM TBH

 

I sure hope you do not loose your number due this this but its a small chance.

 

PAC code is good for 30days then expires if not used but not sure what stage your account in.

 

Either way you may have no phone for a few days, its not end of the world.

Sorry to hear you've not had your SIM card yet. Appreciate this is frustrating.

 

The old SIM may have become inactive if the number has been ported already. I would probably recommend giving orange a call about this.

 

Let us know if you get any further issues when you get our SIM.
