Going abroad

I'm going to France on Monday and I was thinking of paying £5 for the 250mb of data. I was wondering how quickly that goes and if I get to France will I randomly need to pay any extra fee? And also when is best to text the number to add it on? Thank you

Re: Going abroad

The only option is to send the text when you arrive in France. You need to have enabled roaming on both the phone and account 24 hours before you go, if not earlier. There has been an ongoing issue with roaming, but it's has or is being resolved.

If you phone fails to pick up a French network, firstly just switch off and back on if that fails do a manual network selection, one of those options should work.

If you have voicemail active, then to avoid charges set up a PIN number  or as a last resort stop the service and restart when you return.

Enjoy the trip

Re: Going abroad

Within the EU there are no charges for being left a voicemail, as per EU law.

Hi Granharv,

Thank you for coming in and posting your message, it's great to see you've already been able to get some helpful information from the Community.

I'm sure we'd love to know how you got on, myself included, when you arrived in France. Was it easy enough to get the data pack?

I hope you have or are enjoying your trip and please stay in touch.

Ben

Re: Going abroad

Hey.
Payed for the data pack easily.
But I haven't had a data signal here all week.
No bother though because I'm hoping that I can use it in uk to play Pokemon go.

Re: Going abroad

Hey Granharv,

Thanks for the reply, I'm afraid the data passes are for when you leave the UK and into a EU country only.

If the data pass has not worked, please let me know and I can arrange for this to be refunded. I have sent you a PM,

If you can have a little look inside your 'Inbox', you'll see I've sent you a 'Private Message'. You can find this at the top right of the page, purple envelope Smiley Happy

Speak to you soon.
