Garbled texts

I keep getting texts which are not what the sender wrote. Some of them are complete gobbledygook. What's causing this?

Re: Garbled texts

Hey adecooper

I'm sorry to learn about the problems you're experiencing at the moment, are you or the text sender using any applications to compose / read / send the messages at all? Or are you both using the default text application on the phones?

Is this an issue that seems to be happening with one number or are you getting these incorrect text messages from multiple people?

Talk soon

Craig

Re: Garbled texts

Hey adecooper

Thanks for the fast response, what model phone do you have? I'm not aware of any issues like this although I'll check this out for you before looking into your individual network connection.

Look forward to hearing from you

Craig

Re: Garbled texts

Thanks for coming back to us adecooper Smiley Happy

So we can get to the bottom of this for you, we're going to perform some diagnostics on the phone. Firstly, we want to soft reset the phone. This will refresh the phones cache and network connection.

You can do this by popping the battery out of the phone while it's turned on.

Give this a go for me and let me know how you get on.

Thanks,

Mat

Re: Garbled texts

I had exactly the same issue with garbled texts on an Xpetia L, I'd get texts that were half of what was sent then half of a random text sometimes from months earlier and that had previously been deleted.

I now have a lovely new phone plus a new sim and I've not had any more issues so far, at least not that kind lol, I now have other problems with texts and calls which lead me to believe there are issues with the network now.

I hope you get your text problem sorted.
