If it is anything like the S6 update it wont work OTA and has to be cable and flash it yourself. Not sure im brave enough to rey that though tbh.

Re: Galaxy S5 marshmallow update

Every other network has been updated to marshmallow now except for Virgin and EE. Virgin hasn't even give us the last 2 security updates.

Re: Galaxy S5 marshmallow update

Do you actually need the Virgin update?

Download the generic version and update using Odin.

Changed a Vodafone S5 to 3 in order to activate Voice over 4G No Problems.

Also you won't have to be waiting in future for security updates - the last 4 have not been put out by Virgin.

Doing it that way does not void your warrante trigger.

Re: Galaxy S5 marshmallow update

Why are Virgin always the last to update there firmware, every other network except EE has updated to marshmallow

I hope the Google bring in that OEM's have to upgrade firmware within a certain time period

Re: Galaxy S5 marshmallow update

Download this and flash via  a copy of Odin

Virgin are then gone forever

Re: Galaxy S5 marshmallow update

I'm not sure about it, as I'm still within warranty. do you have to root your phone?

Re: Galaxy S5 marshmallow update

No root, and the warranty indicator does not trip. I've done it to change an ex Vodafone S5 to 3 firmware to get Voice over 4G
