Enable pasting of passwords on Mobile account login

Can you please ask whoever to enable pasting of passwords on the VM Mobile account login website? Thanks.

Re: Enable pasting of passwords on Mobile account login

why would you ever want the ability to paste a password. if you are copying it then you already broke security 101 by having it saved. And when having it a a plain text clipboard to be pasted anywhere by mistake is asking for trouble.

Password boxes should NEVER allow copy and paste

Re: Enable pasting of passwords on Mobile account login

That is just complete nonsense. Ill leave you to look up why. And if VM consider it insecure (which they haven't said), why is it enabled on their main website?

Well most of the major IT companies disagree with you. The following link summarises the arguments:

Re: Enable pasting of passwords on Mobile account login

To be honest philbilly

The long and short of it is .

Virgin don't allow copy and paste in the password field . I don't think its going to change to be honest.

Re: Enable pasting of passwords on Mobile account login

Lee, thanks for the reply. As I said above, Virgin do allow pasting on their main website, it is only on the Virgin Mobile website they don't. So it seems they don't agree on their own policy. But you are probably right, and they won't bother changing it.

Re: Enable pasting of passwords on Mobile account login

It does seem strange I must admit. I can see why it would be beneficial to copy and paste but then its not very secure if you think of it. To copy and paste the password must be pre written out in a file which isn't safe to do and then writing the password in plain text to copy and paste would be redundant as for the sake of typing out in plain text to the password field, you might as well type it in the box
