Emergency Calls Only

I'm in Majorca and using WiFi in apartment and am able to surf the internet. However I'm receiving message stating 'Emergency calls only' and therefore unable to send/receive texts or phone calls. How can I resolve this issue?
Many thanks.

Re: Emergency Calls Only

Hi johndale,

Welcome to the community and thanks for posting. I'm really sorry to hear you're unable to use your phone abroad.

I'd need you to check if you have roaming enabled on your account. This is automatically switched off for pay monthly customers to avoid any unwanted charges. You can now enable this via your online account.

To check, follow these steps:-

Online account > Plans and devices > Manage services > Enable roaming

Please let me know how you get on.

Thanks

Re: Emergency Calls Only

Thanks for your help. I've decided to leave roaming switched off to avoid extra charges. I can still use internet via WiFi in apartment. I can manage without calls and emails.
I can send emails via Gmail; are these chargeable if kept within my monthly allowances?

Re: Emergency Calls Only

Hi johndale,

Thanks for your quick reply.

If you're using the apartment WiFi then you won't be charged anything as it would come out of their allowance. So you can send as many emails as you want.

Hope this helps.

Thanks
