EU Mobile Data - no connection issue

Hello,

 

I was recently in the Netherlands for the weekend. I made sure that Data Roaming was switched on in my online account. I ordered a 50mb data pass which i received a text from Virgin saying that it had been activated.

And yet I had no internet connection at all. I could make and receive texts and calls, but the mobile date would not work. (yes I had data and roaming switched on in my phone settings)

When I called about this I was told that simply switching on roaming in my account is not enough to enable roaming data? Yet this is not stated in the virgin faq's anywhere?

I came here looking to post this exact same problem. I've just returned from mallorca, sent the text for 250mb and got a reply that it was all set up. Roaming is switched on (device and account) the only network I could manually connect to was orange as moviestar, Vodafone es and a few others said my sim wasn't compatible. Brand new sim, brand new galaxy s7. Didn't connect once all week.
