EE Wifi calling

So EE have started to bring Wifi calling to the Lumia 640 initially. It uses the phone's dialler, negating the need to download any additional apps. Any plans Virgin? You don't even have to make an app!

Re: EE Wifi calling

The phones aren't going to do it without software/app, so there supplied with the app installed or it's built into their firmware.  Breaking news stuff - can you see them giving it away ????

Yeah I'm sure it is probably built into the firmware as it currently only on phones bought from EE. Info below taken from their community blog. It would just be nice to think other providers would follow suit!

  • WiFi Calling will be available at no extra cost for users with compatible devices on EE plans.
  • WiFi Calling is not an app - it uses the phone's native dialler and text button. We'll provision capable devices over the air.
