Disable voice mail

Hi,

How can I disable voicemail on my I-phone 5?

I am currently abroad and calls cost £4.00 a minute, so I won't to avoid having to ring my own voicemail if possible.

Thanks

Re: Disable voice mail

Hi Jan_K,

log into your Virgin Mobile account then click on "Plan and device".

Go to "Manage my services" here you will see "Voicemail".

Change it to OFF (click the other side of the rectangle box).

After changing the setting, allow time for your account to update then reboot your phone.

Re: Disable voice mail

How much time are we supposed to allow? I switched off voicemail from plans and devices an hour ago, restarted my phone several times. Then disabled voicemail from the settings of the phone also. I still keep getting the new voicemail message.

When I call 222 to listen to the message, it just says "it looks as though you dont have a mailbox with us, call to setup one" and closes automatically but the notification stays there.

This is very annoying and shouldn't be this hard to get rid of ...
