Data usage

Hey there,
How come when i am on an unlimited data package, virgin mobile decide to slow my browser down when i reach 3gb for the month? I have rang up to complain about this but they say it is a fair usage policy? So why give unlimited if it doesn't mean unlimited? If i was going through maybe 7-8gb of data maybe that would need slowing down but not after 3gb? Can anyone enlighten me why they do this?
Thanks

Re: Data usage

Hi Djones250.

I can't say why Virgin do this and I would agree that it should be made clearer beforehand to anyone taking out a package that includes a large mobile data allowance.

It is however in their T's & C's. Once you have used 3.5GB the service becomes throttled by Virgin until the end of the calendar month:
