Data usage high

Using iphone5s, data usage is very high and appears to be at the same time past the hour each day - for example 3.15mb used today at 1.20 this afternoon when the phone wasn't being used. Any ideas please?

Re: Data usage high

Hiya, it could possibly be your mobile checking for emails automatically.
It may be worthwhile checking your email settings to see if this is the case. Also you have an option in settings that will show you which apps are using the most mobile data.
Take a look in settings> Mobile data

Thanks

Re: Data usage high

Thanks, I'd already set mail to fetch only so it's not that. The most recent high usage was with safari when it should have been connected through wifi. I've turned mobile data off for now!

Re: Data usage high

Are you by some chance have your phone setup to use both wifi and mobile data at the same time?

Re: Data usage high

Hi Lessmith5,

You may be able to isolate which app or service that is connecting to mobile data using the iPhones data usage menu.

Apple have an article on mobile data usage that shows how to see which apps have been using data, and how much.

It might be a good idea to 'reset statistics' if you haven't done so recently to give a better reading.

Hope this helps!

Thanks
