Contacts transfer

I have just upgraded to a LG Spirit. How do I transfer contacts from my old phone

Hi Harrythecat1,

There isn't anyway I am aware of to copy them across. If you are using the same SIM card and your contacts are saved to it then you would just need to swap the SIM over. If this is not the case you would need to copy them over manually onto the new phone as the new SIM will not have your contacts details stored on it.

Most modern Smartphones allow to save your contact information 'to the Cloud' meaning they can be easily transferred from one phone to another.

Thanks for your help but things have to be really simple for an idiot like me.

The last time I upgraded my phone I did it at The Virgin store in Plymouth and they did everything for me and in double quick time. Sorted out keeping my same number and transferring all my contacts.

This time they were hopeless and I walked out of the store in disgust.

I then did it by phone and it has been a nightmare

I have now activated my phone on my account.. I have not a clue when it will happen. I do not know if I am keeping my same number and my contacts are not transferred.

To make it twice as bad I am trying to sort out my wife's phone as well.

To make it even worse Virgin do not even have my phone on the list of phones they issue to the public.

How bad can it get.

It maybe worth calling our mobile team so we can check over everything for you. Generally when upgrading you would keep the same number.

At last I seem to be doing OK.

I have just been activated and I appear to have kept my old number.

I am now sorting out my wife's upgrade and if I follow what I have done then it should be OK.

She has a lot of contacts so will take a little time.

If I meet any problems I will take up your suggestion.

It is a pity that other people were not as helpful

I have solved the contacts problem.

I did not realize that I had an SD Memory card in the phone. So I exported contacts to the memory card.

Put the memory card in to the new phone and imported the contacts on to the phone.

Seems to have worked
