Changing length of time for rings

My phone only rings 6 times when someone calls, and I hardly ever have to answer it in this short time - it goes to voicemail.  I've found a way on the 'net to change it by using codes for Virgin Media - can you tell me if this actually works?  Thus:

Virgin Mobile – it’s a slightly longer process for Virgin Mobile phones. Start  by tapping *#67# into your phone, then press the call/answer key. Make a note of the number that’s displayed, including the + symbol.

Now enter **61*add the number you noted down**XX#  (XX being the length of time required, usually 30 seconds)

Thank you!

Re: Changing length of time for rings

Hi Parsoloes,

yes that's correct:

To adjust your ring time before voicemail kicks in:

Tap *#67# into your phone and press call.

Make a note of the number that's displayed, including the + symbol (this is your Voicemail number).

Enter the following code **61* Voicemail number**number of seconds you want it to ring#

You can choose from 5 seconds ring to 30 seconds (maximum) in multiples of 5

e.g: **61*+440011123456789**25# (25 denotes 25 seconds)

Re: Changing length of time for rings

Hmm...I have a slight problem here - on my dial pad, the 0 (zero) has a + beside it, what do I have to do to make it appear as +??

(Sorry, I'm the most un-techy person on the face of the earth!)

Re: Changing length of time for rings

Depends on the phone. It would be either press the zero key twice quickly, or hold it down.

Re: Changing length of time for rings

OK I did all that, but I just called the number from my landline & it's still the same! How long does it take for the change to kick in?
