Changing SIM to a new phone

I have a new handset I got from Virgin over a year ago but never put a SIM in it. I now need to use it with an existing SIM. I have put the SIM into the new phone but it is not registered on the network. What do I do?

Hi charliemonk,

 

you say "an existing SIM".

Is the SIM PAYG or Pay Monthly? Is it activated / have credit on? When was it last used?

Thanks. I got an answer from Virgin phone help. The SIM should just work in the new handset. There is nothing to do. It seems my wife's SIM works in the new handset but mine does not. It is a different problem. Thanks for trying.
