Changed to sim only

I bought an Iphone and changed my monthly contract to sim only. My new sim arrived today and I put it in my Iphone. I went to the website and activated the sim. My old phoned stopped working (not registered on this network). The Iphone says 'no sim'.

I phoned VM who said that it could take up to 24 hours to change over. That's fair enough but should the Iphone say 'no sim'? Surely it should now that it has a sim if only one that isn't registered yet?

Re: Changed to sim only

Hi,

I don’t have an iPhone myself so I can’t test this theory. But I would imagine that as far as the phone is concerned there is little difference between a SIM which which has not yet been activated & so can’t connect to the network & no SIM at all.
