Change of sim type from standard to nano sim to fit a newer phone

I have a standard size sim on a paymonthly sim only tarif. Ive been offered a newer phone from a friend which uses a nano sim. Will I be able to change my sim and keep my number /tarif?
Thanks in advance.

Re: Change of sim type

Hi Chrisby,

you need to call Virgin mobile customer services on 789 from your Virgin mobile.
Or 0345 6000 789 from any other phone and request a SIM of the correct size.

You’ll be required to pay postage: It can take 3-5 working days for Royal Mail at 99p.
Or Yodel 24 hour courier service at £2.99.

Your mobile number & tariff will remain the same but you'll be responsible for transferring SIM content such as saved contacts.

Re: Change of sim type

What's involved with the changeover of SIM's ?

Will there be any downtime or loss of normal service etc ?

Hi StevieT123,

you need to send the text READY to 789678 from your old phone & SIM.

You should receive a text back saying the request has been successful.

Activation can take upto 24 hours but is usually much sooner.

There may well be some loss of service between your old SIM disconnecting from the network and your new SIM connecting.

Periodically reboot your new phone by turning it off and on at this time.
